Based on rhythms Coco and Baiao from Pernambuco in Brazil. It is a journey out of dark and complex towards simple and playful. Influenced by the trance like sound of the Berimbau and the fluid majesty of the Brazilian martial art form Capoeira that it accompanies. The ‘small guitars’ were the final thing we recorded, late at night, during the album sessions, it felt like a party with old friends and brought home the spontaneous community dance circle feel I was trying to achieve when writing it.
