Inspired by, Cuban Bata, Cape Verdean Batuque, and Brazilian Boi. The lyrics invoke Mono no aware which is an awareness of the impermanence of things, and both a transient gentle sadness at their passing as well as a longer, deeper gentle sadness about this state being the reality of life. Whist being a song about a sprawling city. The mood is an enveloping sense of being beneath a rainforest canopy as you watch droplets race down giant leaves, as lizards peek back out from hiding from the rain.
